Superhero Middle Grade Book

For middle grade readers interested in superheroes is "Wonder Woman at Super Hero High" by Lisa Yee (Random House, $13.99, ages 8 to 12.) At Super Hero High, the young superheroes (and villains) all work with teachers and their principal, Amanda Waller, to unlock their potential. The new student is Wonder Woman, who has left her island home for life among other kids, both boys and girls, her own age with super powers. There, she meets her new roommate, Harley Quinn, who is obsessed with her social media videos, a girl named Cheetah who doesn't seem to like her much, and many many more familiar faces. Set against a high school backdrop with some relatable issues, these female superheroes also give young kids some female role models from the superhero universe. And written with a style similar to the popular "Monster High" and "Ever After High" that the age group loves, this is a new series just waiting to be explored.
