End summer with teen books - Web Extra!
Since I also write about kids/teen books monthly for The Parkersburg News & Sentinel, there are books that get mentioned there that don't here. I grabbed a few from my June and July columns that I thought needed an extra mention.
"Choose Your Own Adventure" books meets personality quizzes in "Your Life, But Cooler!" by Crystal Velasquez.
The reader becomes the main character in this series of books, taking quizzes at the end of each chapter to see what you would do in the situation, based on your personality. In this book, your middle school is excited to have an opening in the popular chorus. While you've always wanted to be a famous pop star, you've never had the courage to get up in front of everyone. And your nemesis is trying out and pretty much mocks you for even daring to think about competing.
