A Parenting Peace

Where's George?

This past weekend, I accidentally stumbled onto an interesting hobby to share with the kids. While at the Mid Ohio Valley Multi Cultural Festival, I gave in to the little ones and allowed them to have silly, over-priced, slush drinks complete with umbrellas and festive glasses. While this is not particularly crucial to my story, I'm still hung up on paying $10.50 for three drinks! Later that day while going through the change given at the stand, I noticed a stamp on a one dollar bill that stated, "Track me at wheresgeorge.com." I had heard about this site before, but had never taken the time to check it out. As it turns out, this is a very nifty site! Registration is very simple; give your email address and choose a password. After entering the bill's series and serial number, the site will immediately register your one dollar bills and let you know if they have been registered before and from where, including miles traveled. You can add interesting notes about your bills, for example, where you received it, the condition it was in, etc. If you choose, the site will alert you when the bill shows up again somewhere new.

We entered three bills and only one had been registered and it had not traveled too far, mostly around West Virginia, but it is interesting and we can't wait to see where it pops up next!
