What do you wish for the world?

That’s a good question for all of us.

A group of school age children from around the country have taken the question online and created artwork for the Doodle 4 Google contest. It’s a serious contest. The winner will win a  $15,000 college scholarship and have their artwork displayed on the search engine’s home page. That page is one of the most viewed web pages on the planet.

Austin Gage Druid, 12, and a student at Van Devender Middle School, is a winner for grades four through sixth in the five state region that West Virginia is in.

His entry features the Google logo surrounded by wind turbines.

He writes:

What I wish for the world is to develop ways of producing pollution-free energy. Harnessing the wind on wind farms would be a clean energy source. Building wind towers on a wind farm is a good way to produce electricity. It produces no waste and needs no fuel.

His artwork is one of hundreds displayed on the site. They all show great ideas to help make the world a better place.
